Let the Planting Begin!

Today I planted about 20 each of:
    Beni Highland (Peppermania)
    Fatalli (Peppermania)
    Goat (IA SSE HF)
    Tobasco (Peppermania)

And a lot (sprinkled .. not sure on numbers) of:
    Trinidad Seasoning
    Maya Red Habanero

This is the earliest by far that I've ever planted peppers. We'll see how that impacts them later on.

Updates and more planting

Updates: Lots of sun gold seeds are up, the 6-8 Arledge seedlings are looking good and there's 2 or 3 Trinidad Scorpions poking through.

Today I planted 3 tomato crosses from Chris Makik:
  • Dora x (unknown)
  • Sugary x Prudens
  • Jolly x Prudens
I did a pinch of seeds each in a 4x6" pot. I don't know how many there were but if I don't get enough seedlings I can always plant more.

I also planted 4 types of greens:
  • Little Gem Pearl from Thompson & Morgan
  • Buttercrunch from Harts
  • Dazzle from Thompson & Morgan
  • Continental Salad Blend from Taste of Italy (T&M)
The seed is from 2010 so I heavily overseeded. If they germinate well, I'm going to have thousands of plants to eat as microgreens or feed to guinea pigs :-)

Lastly I planted two types of kale:
  • Russian Red
  • Lacinato (Dinosaur)
I remembered after the fact that I also have Siberian kale that I wanted to try but am out of potting mix.

Peppers Round 3

The peppers I planted Feb 13 are mostly doing well despite the fact that the heat mat flipped out and kept them at around 97 for what I can only assume was a week. When I finally noticed that they were super warm I turned it way down and everything sprouted in a few days. That'll teach me not to assume I don't need a thermostat!

I planted 8 Trinidad Scorpion seeds (from PA KR C2 at some point) and a pinch of Arledge seeds (from ME LE A) today. Also stuck a few grape cuttings from a wild vine at work in some 1ga pots on the heat mat to see what happened.
